SPECIAL FEATURES TO MAKE YOUR JOB EASIER

In this issue, we focus on several services and features of interest: training through Navicure University online, the intelligent Knowledge Base™, our enhanced Insurance Code List, Claim Manager’s batch processing capabilities, the claim recall action, and our Paper Claims Report.

NAVICURE UNIVERSITY: ONLINE TRAINING AND DEMONSTRATIONS
An exciting tool for education and training anytime, from anywhere, Navicure University provides step-by-step instructions covering a rapidly growing range of Navicure features. At the moment, it offers online demonstrations and usage guides covering dynamic claim status; ERA, ERA matching and EOB manager; work list; change claim report; analysis reports; and secondary claims.

Use the Navicure University library of online presentations to train new employees or brush up on features you don’t use often. Navicure University Webcasts are easy to view with the Media Player software already on your computer. From the Navicure tool bar, simply go to tools and select Navicure University

KNOWLEDGE BASE: A GROWING RESOURCE
Since we introduced our Navicure Knowledge Base™ in our newsletter last year, it has continued to grow in scope, intelligence and usefulness. Our Knowledge Base is a huge repository of details about claim management errors. It’s organized in such a way as to streamline access to the massive amounts of information — about payer policies, transmission and formatting requirements, rejection and error messages, and much more — Navicure has collected over the years. With Knowledge Base, you have an increasingly effective tool for avoiding problems and payment delays. INSURANCE CODE LIST: ENHANCED TO INDICATE ERA, SECONDARY
We have updated our payer list feature to display if each carrier accepts electronic secondary claims and if each provides electronic remittance advice (ERA). This enhancement will make it easier for you to submit secondary claims and make your claims management workflow even more productive. From the Navicure tool bar, simply go to Business Admin, select Code Lists and choose Insurance Codes.

CLAIM MANAGER: BATCH PROCESSING FOR KEY CLAIM ACTIONS
The Claim Manager feature within Navicure allows batch processing for recall, re-submit, cancel and generate secondary. Whether five or 500 claims, this convenient tool lets you pull the list on your screen into Claim Manager for executing the claim actions.

RECALL FUNCTION: MORE CONTROL FOR CLAIM MANAGEMENT
Everybody’s human, and at some point everybody wishes they had an “undo” or “undelete” button they could press. Claim management is no different. That’s why Navicure now offers a “recall” function.

After we accept your claims at Navicure, we prepare them for transmission several times a day. With our recall feature, you have the option of re-capturing claims you have submitted that we have not yet transmitted. The recall function should prove valuable in situations where you realize after the fact that you uploaded the wrong file. This feature would be available at any time of day to take back claims or batches of claims, and either correct them or delete them.

PAPER CLAIMS REPORT: USING DYNAMIC CLAIM STATUS TO SEE CLAIMS DROP TO PAPER
In the past clients have often inquired about claims dropping to paper, why it happened and how to know when it happens. If a claim lacks a payer ID, has a payer ID that doesn’t match, says “paper,” or has all zeros, it’s printed and handled as a paper claim.

To get detailed information about your paper claims, start at the Report menu, select Dynamic Claim Status, choose the Dynamic Claim Status folder and then Dynamic Claim Status Report. Here you can view a list of paper claims, and filter the list by date or other variable. Use this information to identify why claims are going to paper and minimize them in the future.
