REMEMBER MAY, 23: It’S ONLY A MONTH AWAY!

Income Tax Day is behind us…but there’s another important deadline looming: May 23, 2008. That’s when healthcare providers will be required to use their National Provider Identification (NPI) number on all claims for reimbursement.

The good news is that Navicure is ready. Navicure’s solution has been incorporating NPI numbers on claims for more than a year with clients who are up-to-speed on NPI requirements. Virtually all payers are now accepting NPI numbers.

The bad news is that not all of Navicure’s clients have taken the important steps to comply with the NPI government-mandated initiative – either due to confusion about what they need to do, or the simple human inclination to procrastinate.

Either way, Navicure is here to help:

  • Between now and mid-June, Navicure will deploy weekly emails to remind all clients about the steps they must take to ensure their claims pass without any problems once the NPI deadline is enforced.
  • Navicure will hold weekly online seminars to walk clients through these steps and answer questions they may have about the process.
  • Navicure will require that clients use their NPI number prior to the deadline to ensure that everything is working properly before May 23. (Detailed information to follow in a separate communication.)
