FROM OUR PARTNERS: NEW AUTODEBIT FEATURE WITH HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT AUTOMATES PHYSICIAN PAYMENT Navicure is constantly collaborating with other leading vendors in the healthcare industry, developing partnerships to offer leading-edge technologies to help you maximize revenues and streamline cash flow. We’re very pleased about current work with Aetna that combines the plan’s and the member’s responsibility in a single payment to you. This functionality is in its earliest stages, but we wanted to share Aetna’s explanation with you: “Beginning January 1, 2007, some Aetna members will have the option to activate the AutoDebit feature of their Health Savings Account (HSA). This feature enables Aetna to pay you for a member’s qualified responsibility directly from his/her HSA up to the amount of available funds. “This feature does not change your claims submission process. Once we’ve received the claim, we adjudicate it and determine the member’s responsibility. If the AutoDebit feature has been activated and sufficient funds are available, you will receive a single payment from us. This payment will include both the member’s and plan’s responsibilities. Your provider Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) will indicate which charges the plan paid and which were reimbursed from the HSA. “Please look for more details on this new feature in an upcoming issue of Aetna OfficeLink Updates.
