A New Look
You'll notice a new look and new features in this issue of Navicure News. We recently polled our readers and found they wanted a quicker read, with more information about industry trends and best practices to promote success. We've also upgraded the poll so that you immediately see how your answers compare to others. Let us know how you like the changes - and feel free to share additional ideas. This Issue's Poll Question

How likely will the government stimulus package, with its extensive HIT provisions, affect your decision to implement an EMR system over the next year?

See polling results in real time!

Definitely - We are in the process of exploring or implementing an EMR because we don't want to miss the incentives or be penalized down the line. (Click here if you would like information on Navicure's partners).
Probably - We've been very interested in purchasing an EMR and this is the opportunity we've been looking for. We plan to begin exploring EMR solutions within the next three months.
Possibly: We've been waiting for the 'right time' to buy an EMR and this may be it. We plan to begin exploring EMR solutions within the next four to 12 months.
Minimally - We're taking a 'wait-and-see' attitude since no one is sure how the incentives will actually be structured - but we're not ruling out an EMR purchase.
No impact - The stimulus package has no effect on our decision because we had already planned and/or budgeted for an EMR.
Not applicable - We already use an EMR.

Last Issue's Poll Results

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced that the greatly expanded ICD-10 diagnosis code set would be implemented in October 2013. What concerns you most about this significant coding and reimbursement change? (Note: This question was posed when the deadline was 2011.)

58.1% It is unlikely that others in the industry - like payers - will be prepared in time
22.6% It will be challenging, but we are confident we can make the change in time
9.7% The accompanying standard for electronic transactions for claims and prescription drugs (version 5010 and D.0. respectively) will cause significant technology problems
3.2% There is no way our EMR and PM systems can be updated before the deadline
3.2% We have no concerns, we knew this was coming
3.2% Did not select a choice
