This Issue's Poll Question

How does your practice handle secondary claims submissions?

We don't bother because the cash flow doesn't justify the effort.
We pursue only large dollar amounts.
It depends. If we have the staffing resources available, we submit secondaries. If we are shorthanded, we let them slide.
We submit all secondary claims.

Last Issue's Poll Results

How likely will the government stimulus package, with its extensive HIT provisions, affect your decision to implement an EMR system over the next year?

23.3% Definitely - We are in the process of exploring or implementing an EMR because we don't want to miss the incentives or be penalized down the line.
8.9% Probably - We've been very interested in purchasing an EMR and this is the opportunity we've been looking for. We plan to begin exploring EMR solutions within the next three months.
5.6% Possibly: We've been waiting for the 'right time' to buy an EMR and this may be it. We plan to begin exploring EMR solutions within the next four to 12 months.
6.7% Minimally - We're taking a 'wait-and-see' attitude since no one is sure how the incentives will actually be structured - but we're not ruling out an EMR purchase.
13.3% No impact - The stimulus package has no effect on our decision because we had already planned and/or budgeted for an EMR.
42.2% Not applicable - We already use an EMR.
